Welcome To The Lakewood Neighborhood Association Home Page!

We are an association made up of the citizens and neighbors of Lakewood, Warwick, RI,
dedicated to making improvements to the quality of life and the beautification and safety of our neighborhood.

NEIGHBORHOOD ALERT!
This information was passed on to us via the "Contact Us" option on our site :
I want to let you know and hope you can spread a message.  On the night of December 30th my car radio (face plate) was stolen from my car parked in my driveway on Birch Street.  My car was not locked.  We were watching TV in the front of the house and never heard or saw a thing.  I say that because I thought I was a person who "noticed things" around my house.  Thanks to a good neighbor on Harrison St. who alerted the police to a couple of suspicious kids (14 yrs old!!) wandering the streets, they were caught and my stereo was recovered and returned to me. The detective said more items were recovered and asked if I spoke to my neighbors. I'm thinking maybe a few people may not be aware something may have been stolen from them.

There will be no January meeting...but we will return in February with Mayor Avedisian!

Mayor Avedisian has agreed to be our special guest speaker on Monday, February 22nd.  Come on out and hear the latest information on Warwick's "State Of The City"!

Mayor Scott Avedisian

This meeting will be held at the Washington Street VFW Hall, at 7PM.  Hope to see everyone there!

Lakewood Baptist Church February Happenings

Pastor Bill Aldrich from the Lakewood Baptist Church has asked us to pass along the following info on some of their upcoming activities for February:

There were three items from Lakewood Baptist Church of which I wanted to make everyone aware.

The first is that we are sponsoring a Blood Drive at the church from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m., on Saturday, February 6th. ALL in the neighborhood are encouraged to come and give blood, especially in the face of the increased need for it due to the disaster in Haiti.

Secondly, the church is going to be involved in a joint Ash Wednesday service at Shawomet Baptist Church on West Shore Road on Wednesday, February 17th, at 7:00 p.m. All are invited to come, especially if you do not have a church or if your church does not have an Ash Wednesday service.

Lastly, Sunday, February 28th was been chosen as "Friendship Sunday" by LBC. This is a special day when we invite everyone we know to come to our church for our worship service and celebrate our fellowship, no matter what form it takes. This will be at 10:30 a.m. with light refreshments and a fellowship time to follow.
